Well, I am well and truly and definitely sick now. I've been coughing for the last several days, and now the runny/stuffy nose has joined the party. I feel filthy no matter how much I shower and I'm dead freaking tired.

Oh, but I can't actually sleep. Last night I went to bed early, hoping to actually, you know, rest up and feel better. Oh no. I tossed and turned for hours, before finally getting to sleep somewhere around sunrise. But even then I couldn't get all the way to sleep, and had stupid half-conscious dreams that made no sense and in which I was still vaguely aware that I was sick, sick, siiiiiick. Now, that's just wrong. What's the freaking point of a dream if all it does is remind you that you still feel like crap?

And then my dad woke me up at 10. I told him I was still sick and he left me alone, but then? Then I couldn't GO BACK to sleep.

Fuck you, body. FUCK YOU. How are we supposed to get better if you WON'T SLEEP?

If you do get to sleep, do your best to sleep on your belly and lay a paper towel under your nose. You won't wake up with a sore throat (always a plus) and gunk will run out of your nose.

Have you gotten to the doctor? I had a bad cold last winter that turned out to be a series of six infections. Most of them happened simultaneously. It's probably a good thing they got the chest one cleared up.
