Yeah, you pretty much summed it up there. XD See, the thing is, though, the thing is? The characters around him don't seem to question this enough, either - Donald is right there with him telling Demyx to stfu, and I'm actually blanking on any instance of Goofy going "hey, give him a chance!" - perhaps I need to replay. :D;; (And yes, it's a bad example using the, uh, Disney characters, but. Mickey. In Chain of Memories, he's helping Riku out and actually says, flat-out, that Riku made him re-evaluate his opinion of darkness. Plus, he has the dark world's Keyblade. There could potentially have been something really cool there, with Mickey expressing sympathy or even a 'maybe they're not all bad' about the Nobodies, which would make Sora think about it or reject it or, you know, REACT somehow at least.)
I mean, he had that wonderful crisis of conscience about the Keyblade itself. And he DOES show sympathy for some of the Nobodies; hell, he even has a moment of sympathy for MALEFICENT, and she's the biggest Black Hat he's met. I just would've loved at least some more notice of the shades of grey, even if he wasn't ready to confront them yet.
(and don't worry, the misspelling totally worked where it was XDDD)
