That's so cool! I always get frustrated by plots that hinge on "these two characters just aren't talking to each other, therefore drama!" but it sounds like the Japanese makes the misunderstanding make so much more *sense* -- it's so much easier here to see why Riku would doubt his place with Sora, and be willing to have that doubt reinforced. Poor baby.
