1. Goofy used to be a blacksmith before he decided to squire himself to a knight. He has a surprisingly deep understanding of metal and weapons because of this, which is a major contributing factor to his skill in fighting with a shield.

2. When his son decided to become a knight as well, Goofy was so proud he could burst... but he was also a little sad about it.

3. He feels terribly sorry for Pete's family, left behind when he was banished, and so for about a month after the banishment he and Max all but lived there, giving the family their support.

I have a question though... is Max going to be exactly like his father (fighting with a shield) or what? I like to imagine him fighting with a spear... 'cause, you know, dragoons rock. :)
