fuyu: (edgeworth)

like did he have it as a kid or did it develop later in life or what

DAMMIT why can't I just say "LOL Edgeworth has an accent" and get on with my life?

I DON'T REALLY NEED TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT HOW HIS ACCENT FITS INTO THE LARGER CONTEXT OF HIS CHARACTER.

One of the true signs of fannishness is caring more about these details than the creators do. Alas, it is our burden to bear.

Edgeworth has an accent? Well, everyone has an accent, technically, but I thought he was supposed to be from California, in the English version of the games. Hence the earthquakes, y'see. If he's got an accent, I reckon it'll be 'mid-Atlantic', which is pretty much the long way to spell 'snob'. ^^;;;

He fakes it because he likes to sound smart?

We mid-atlantic kiddies sound nothing like that. XD Especially not us born and bred Baltimorons.

Yes, I know now that this refers to the midpoint between England and America from an accent standpoint, but the thought of Edgeworth sounding like he's from DC makes me cackle inside.

I dunno if I'd call that an accent -- at least not a British one. He sounds very nonregional and kinda snooty. The American equivalent of a snooty British accent is what it sounds like to me. XD

Technically I'm from halfway between Baltimore and DC and tend to be MUCH more DC-esque in my attitudes and mannerisms, but still...

Mm. Old Bay.

As long as you can disembowel the crabs right, it's all good. ♥

WITH A HAMMER! >D

I always manage to hurt myself real bad and chicken out though. That and I'm SO sensitive to spicy food that I can't eat a lot of old bay without getting ill. :\ it's no fun at all.

Doesn't the blandness of crab offset that a little? D:

[identity profile] teal-deer.livejournal.com 2007-08-22 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
It's the actual chemicals in some of the spices in it. Things like black pepper, chilis, jalapeno... I'm just REALLY sensitive to the oils that give it a spicy flavor. I actually used to get blisters from it (over the years I've gotten more of a tolerance, but it's still really painful to eat some foods)

So usually I just use a LITTLE Old Bay and then smother it in butter. :D
