HEY GUYS HEY GUYS HEY REMEMBER THOSE BIRTHDAY DRABBLES?
I TOLD YOU I DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT THEM.
For
raisedbymoogles: FF7/Princess Tutu, Yuffie/Ahiru, enthusiasm: "Sometimes you just gotta grab life by the ass."
It turned into KH, I'm sorry.

There was a lot to be annoyed about on this field mission, but the absolute worst of it was Yuffie's overwhelming, terrifying enthusiasm.
We can't meddle like that, he tried to tell her. We have a mission, he tried to tell her. The only reason we're even free to move about and our minds haven't succumbed to the town is because we're with Sora, he tried to tell her; are you really going to jeopardize that because you want to take that duck girl on a date?
She laced her fingers behind her head, the prim little schoolgirl uniform all wrong on her wiry, boyish frame, and winked at him.
"Lighten up, Leon. Sometimes you just gotta grab life by the ass."
For
anriko: Ansem/Xemnas, Kingdom Hearts

The hypothesis is disproven, as easily as that; Heartless and Nobody together do not one whole person make again. No matter how close together they press, how intense the momentary feeling flashing in the void
(Xehanort is the name on both their lips)
they must come down again, two broken halves of an ill-mended whole, falling away from each other, dead and empty.
"The answer must lie in Kingdom Hearts," are the words said into the silence of the second breaking; whether Heartless or Nobody or both at once gave them voice is unknown, unheeded.
They part ways that twilight, circling around to a single goal; fractured.
For
syvia: Riku vs. Maleficent's groupies, being less than badass
"Don't touch 'em, kid, unless you got a real hankering to see what a lonely wailing eternity is like," Hades had said. Riku hadn't needed any further disincentive, and kept his hands firmly to himself as their boat slid through the dismal river. Every so often a spectral hand would grip at the steering pole, or the edge of the boat, and Hades would have to beat it back.
Riku had thought he was pretty much up to anything the worlds could throw at him, but he had to admit this gave him the shivers.
"Why are they here?" he said uneasily. He couldn't put the thought from his mind of himself, floating aimless in those waters... "What did they do to deserve this?"
"Didn't pay the rent," Hades leered, needle-sharp teeth glinting in the dull light. "Underworld real estate ain't free."
"But isn't your job to take care of the dead?" Way to slack off, Hades, he didn't say - because while Hook seemed like a pushover and even Maleficent was tolerant of a little backtalk, something about antagonizing the Lord of the Dead sat very wrong with Riku.
"They're here, they're in my realm, I'm takin' care of 'em." Hades waved a dismissive hand briefly before giving another push with the pole. "Don't bother feelin' too bad for 'em, anyway. This is better for 'em than Tartarus, which is where plenty of 'em woulda gone if they'd coughed up the fee."
Trying to imagine, later, what could be worse than eternity in those teeming waters, gave Riku nightmares for three nights running.
The rest will be coming, oh yes.
I TOLD YOU I DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT THEM.
