The Angstbunny That Ate My Brain, by Alyssa, age 18

Okay. Once upon a time, I read a FAKE fanfic. It was an AU, and a somewhat interesting one. The basic premise was that in volume 2, when Ryou tried to keep Dee from killing the guy who had been paid to attack the orphanage, Dee actually shot Ryou, sending him into a coma. From that point, everything we saw in FAKE was a construct of Ryou's mind while he was in the coma. Seven years later, he woke up and had to face what the real world was like. I found it to be a creepy but kind of interesting idea, but the writing wasn't especially good.

Anyway. My JJ poked speculatively at that fanfic, thinking it was an excellent place to insert a creepy support relationship between him and Dee. I pried his fingers off of the developing bunny and sent it into hibernation, not only because it was angsty, but also because it wasn't entirely my idea. The other day, however, the stupid thing resurfaced, and JJ attached himself to it. After making some adjustments to the circumstances of Ryou's coma - I had it happen in the line of duty some time after Dee and Ryou had become lovers - I forced myself to write it just so it would leave.

Ahahahahahahaha. Hahahahaha. I should know my brain doesn't work that way. I may have gotten the first angstbunny out, but on its way out, it SPAWNED.

It started innocently enough, I guess - I was brainstorming the "so what happens when Ryou wakes up?" part just to recover from the sheer frigging ANGST of writing Perfect; and then it just kept developing and developing and before I knew it, I was really wanting to write it. And now I want to write two more vignettes as companion pieces to Perfect; one from Dee's POV and one from Drake's. What started as the exorcism of a particularly nasty bunny has turned into an AU that is slowly taking over my brain.

For the love of all that is holy, will somebody please convince me that I don't want to write all this?
