Costume progress report

Vest is sort of halway sewed. I really ought to stop taking so many breaks, but I just can't focus on such a tedious task for very long at a stretch.

This is the main reason I wanted someone over to help, I think. Someone to talk to. XD

Vest is also the only set of pieces I've cut out. Next I get to fly totally blind with the cape, YAY. After that, the shirt and pants. There are a fucking lot of patterns on the table.

This is the other reason. I wanted an extra pair of hands cutting fabric. XD

It looks like I might be able to get this done, though, if I just get myself focused. I've got a few hours I can spend working tomorrow before class, and then the entire weekend... Obviously can't get to Atomic Comics, which saddens me, but that's my own fault for not getting to this project earlier.

Got all my assorted doodads now, though. If I can get my sewing done before the weekend, I'm confident I can get all the craftsy and fiddly stuff done too. I hope I don't completely botch the Sharpie dye job on my wig, because that would be a serious setback...

I get to cut holes in a jacket and shirt from Goodwill. Hoo-rah.

That and somehow make an exit wound through my sternum.

Best of luck and motivation to you, fellow cosplayer. Maybe you'll have it done by Friday night. Atomic Comics is promising one hell of a party.

Sounds like you have it easier than me.

I'd love to believe I could get it done by Friday night... let's see. I will be waking up at 10 tomorrow at the earliest, and can only work until like 3:45 or 4:00. Then I'm in classes until 9, and assuming I magically have the stamina to work immediately after, maybe I can work until about two. That's - being generous - about 11 hours, assuming I am incredibly diligent and work nonstop that ENTIRE TIME, which I won't. So, more realistically, I'll wager 8 or 9 hours. Eight or nine hours to sew a cape, pants, and shirt, make two bracelets and a belt, a set of facial prosthetics, finish a pocketwatch, and dye a wig.

... Yeah, if I show up? Consider it a miracle.

... Though, I just had to look at the flyer and god damn it, woman, I think you just unlocked my Limit Break of productivity. We'll see what I can do. Can you give me a ride if it does become mysteriously possible?

Sweet. I guess we'll know at 5 PM on Friday whether I TRIUMPH AGAINST ALL ODDS or fail horribly at life. :D

(... Since my last comment, I just sewed on a pocket and made a collar and I'm this close to completely finishing the damn thing. Maybe you need to come over here and stand over my shoulder, because you appear to be really good at giving bursts of motivation.)
