It was actually pretty simple, when I got down to it. The original base was Zax standing with hands on hips. That itself looked like crap while I was originally working on it, until I got some details in and refined it. When I started needing motion, I copied the upper body and the legs to new layers, erasing the arms on the upper body layer and drawing new ones. I had a new layer for each upper body variation, and modified copies of the leg layer for the squat thrusts. The different eyes and facial elements were all layers of their own. All the motion was done in ImageReady, by nudging layers around and turning layers on and off as necessary and then saving the result. The sword spin called for a separate arm. And so on, and so forth. The PSD I was working from ended up having fifty-two layers. XD It really wasn't difficult, just a slight logical challenge and very time-consuming. XD
