*yawn*

I've been keeping the most bizarre sleep schedule lately - going to sleep at 1:00-2:00 PM, waking up at 8:00-10:00 PM. And I'm having the damnedest time breaking out of it - I try, and then make it about half an hour past the last time I petered out before the bed calls to me. I guess it's because it's a sufficient amount of sleep, I'm not getting direct light, and I am still sorta psychologically nocturnal so this 'feels' like a perfect schedule.

I'm determined to break it, though. Doing well for today so far.

Finally registered for my fall courses today, and I must say I'm in rather high spirits about my immediate future right now. (*knocks on wood*) I arranged a great schedule, no conflicts, all the classes were still open and I even managed to get them all at night. I had to forgo fencing (although I suppose technically I didn't - but really, better safe than sorry. I need a new vest anyway), but in its place I have Religion and the Modern World, which promises to be a fascinating course. :D I also, in addition to two courses for my degree, have Introduction to Ethics and Literature of Sci-Fi, and I just can't stop my internal squee at the fact that they even HAVE that last one. I get to study science fiction for credit. How cool is that? No, really, how cool?

And really, it's just as well I procrastinated so long, because before I laid out my class schedule, I checked craigslist just on principle, and found out that the nearest local art supply store was looking for cashiers immediately. (And by "nearest local", I mean "ten-minute walk". It's that close.) So I applied for that this morning and then set my class schedule around it. If I hadn't found that job offer first, I would - without question - have applied for at least one day course right up in the hours they'd want me to be available for.

If I get hired, I'll have some long-ass days, but JOB in an ART SUPPLY STORE. If I don't get hired, then I'll have my days free to do as I like. Either way, I can't complain.

Also, it looks like I'll be getting a bike again, and I'm planning to ride to classes. MCC is close enough that that is feasible, and since I don't have to lug my portfolio around this semester there are no further logistic obstacles to my doing this. So I'll be getting a lot more exercise every day, AND it'll be faster than my bloody half-hour walk to the bus stop, AND I won't have to wait for the largely unreliable bus anymore. (The bus line I've been taking to school is awful. It's okay on the way TO college, but on the way back it's been known to be inexcusably late - sometimes up to half an hour. On a line that only comes every half hour anyway.) So that's pretty uplifting in itself.

The only thing stopping me from being more overtly cheerful at this point, I think, is how long I've been up.

My schedule this semester is, thus far, awful. I have to go beg my major advisor to pull some strings so I can take my math class and not some bullshit class instead.

I wish I could take a Literature of Sci-Fi class.

Hm, your uni has interesting extra courses. Mine would probably have them, too, if the campus buildings weren't so far from each other. I know there's fencing and martial arts somewhere but I don't wanna have to catch a bus to get there.

My schedule this semester is so WONDERFUL. It's like, I have NOTHING on monday and tuesday, wednesday is ONE CLASS at 9am, and thursday ONE CLASS at 11am and friday has two classes that fit perfectly around each other. Then on saturday I have german (starting next week ♥)

The best thing is that I can still finish uni in the next two years.

I totally made an icon of E.T. fly by the moon! Rufus, but then remembered I only have 6 icons and like them too much. XD;

Sora was so incredible in it. So much. XD The squidfishing also begs an icon off of me and I really will have to make it.

I go to a federal university built during the 70s, which was militarism in Brazil. Since they wanted to show off and look powerful, they made a group of tinytiny islands into one and made it the whole campus, + a few buildings off-campus. The place is actually pretty, but mostly... BIG and EMPTY (they didn't even bother to add, I don't know, a shopping or a few stores or anything, just the buildings, a lot of grass, a few trees and one primary school. They only just started to add flowers, and militarism has been over since the year I was born :x). It has internal buses so students can go to one building to the other. I won't even mention the wonky avenues.

The place is just one horribly-impractical-to-live-in city. Badly in need of reformulation and all.
