You know, overall the acting in Dirge is pretty excellent, but I just can't buy Hojo's voice. I realize he's pretty much an archetypal mad scientist, but that's no reason to make him sound like Dr. Finkelstein on acid.
My only other real complaint is with the Miscellaneous Grunting (and I know that's just me, because jump/kick/punch noises often make me want to stuff a sock in the character's mouth), and that's pretty idiosyncratic and minor.
Srsly. In Japanese he still sounded creepy and slimy and mad scientist-y, but in a way that I could believe somebody might actually TALK that way, y'know?
Oh, yes. Fortunately you do get used to that... though I still kinda think Vincent's jumping grunt sounds like an anemic gorilla.
