Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five icons, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. Because I love Tidus for his dorkiness and wished to immortalize it in icon, and this was the dorkiest expression I could get a screencap of. It is my default because, well, I'M a dork. XD
I was screencapping FMA. This seemed like a good cap, and I wanted a good embarrassed/"o shit" icon. ... Al is really quite an expressive suit of armor. XD
... Um. Somebody on Gaia made it based the images of the baby yetis. I thought it was adorable. I asked permission and took it. The end.

gogglebeast, I realized exactly how compromising this frame looked, and how much worse it would be cropped. Thus, crack was born. XD I just wish Russel's hand wasn't visible behind Ed's head there, but I refuse to shop it out. It seems dishonest.
For a long time leading up to the release of KH2, since before we even knew it was actually being made and right up until they revealed the last few FF cameos, I swore that all they needed to do was put Faris and Setzer in it and I would swim to Japan for the game. Then it turned out they'd done half of that and I kind of exploded a little, so I took the low-quality magazine scan we had at the time and iconed like a mad thing.
'Virus' is the one Strong Bad e-mail I keep going back to every time I visit that site (rarely). I'm at the point where I can hear Strong Bad's "Computer over? Virus equals very yes? That's not a good prize!" in my head. It carried over very nicely to a rant icon. I've been meaning to make the text less ugly.
I had this notion I wanted to do an icon featuring Zax, with some lyrics about ghosts. Thing is, I had no lyrics, so I went hunting and found the lyrics to "Ghost of Freedom". The refrain suits Zax like nobody's business. At the time I didn't have the skills to make an icon with that much text on it, though, so I abandoned it. Eventually I made one with lyrics from Sting's "Ghost Story", but the Iced Earth lyrics still begged to be applied to Zax, and AC provided me with the perfect caps for each lyric. (The caps are all in chronological order in the FF7 timeline, too, which was a neat bonus.) I waffled forever on using that cap of Cloud, but eventually decided it suited better than just a picture of the sword or something.
Nothing much. I just wanted to make a Reno icon with that thumbs-up, so I did.
Arizona is basically famous for something like three things - the heat, the copper, and the holes. I mean, they're very good holes - the Meteor Crater is an amazing piece of geological history and kind of sobering, while the Grand Canyon is, well, the Grand fucking Canyon. Take away all the awe and the amazement and look at it with a stone-cold cynical view, though, and they are both just really big holes in the ground. XD And that amuses me. Therefore, I icon it.

OH GAWD. XDXDXD Okay,nekokoban and I were sort of having this ping-pong game of inspiration going. I drew her a layout, so she wrote me a fic. In this fic she had Sora arguing with himself/Roxas about ice cream, and we came to the conclusion Roxas probably didn't like chocolate because it was too sweet. (Obviously sea-salt's okay.) Which somehow brought up the image of Axel going "hay valentine's day :D" and getting SHOT DOWN because his boytoy, he does not like the sweets. XD So I drew a comic of that. Then she put it into icon form. I luff Terra. XD
sjen's doing, I believe. It's just... yes. XD And Leon is sorely underrepresented in my icons. Really, it's weird. In FF8, I was pretty meh on Squall. In KH, suddenly I COULDN'T STOP FANGIRLING HIM. He wasn't even that different of a character at the time! His redeeming qualities were just more apparent. And then in KH2, obviously being back home and able to be of measurable help has done him a world of good, because he's not even trying to hide his inner DORK any more. (You may have guessed: the absolute best way to ensure my love of a character is to make them in some way dorky. I love dorks almost automatically. That's why I love Cloud so much - under all that emo is a DOOOOOOORK.)
