Late-night muses are frustrating, but it's even more frustrating when the muse in question is Kairi, because then you can't even be properly annoyed at her.

She's awful hard to be irritated at, isn't she? I keep dropping other things to write Kairi.

I have the same problem with Yuffie, except there it isn't that she's not annoying -- it's that I love her for being annoying, so it doesn't help with putting the muse off.

Seriously. (And I need yet another Kairi icon. One that isn't sarcastic.) It's just... even when you've got a bajillion illustrations to do for a Flash project and a lot of other stuff to hurry and catch up on, when Kairi comes to you in the middle of the night and gives you an idea for something horrifically ambitious, like a fairy-tale-style doujin about her and the boys, you just can't be mad at her. She's Kairi.

XD Yeah, I hear you. I once totally lost interest in a story I was writing (which was horrible, so my losing interest was a good thing) once Yuffie's part in it was done and later realized I'd been doing the whole thing as an excuse to write a whole lot of Yuffie. Which may possibly be the most novel approach to a yaoi fic ever.
