Tonight's feature: Idle conversation with flidgetjerome inspires me, but in the wrong way.

We were talking about a pumpkin "carving" contest being held in our guild on Gaia:

voodoobob: I need to make one of these. I sort of angst, though. It'll be tough to follow any of the current entries.
flidgetjerome: :P
flidgetjerome: you're an awesome artist
flidgetjerome: all you need is a batshit idea

We then go on to lightly discuss a few possible ideas, I try to think of pumpkin designs... which gives me a totally unrelated brainwave:

voodoobob: DUDE
voodoobob: You know what would be the best. Halloween. prop. ever?
voodoobob: Some sort of crouching kappa sculpture, with the candy bowl in its head.
voodoobob: Possibly someone in costume.
voodoobob: Extra candy to anyone who can make him bow!
voodoobob: Five dollars for anyone who goes home and comes back with a cucumber.
voodoobob: Possibly a whole potluck haunted yard you have to get through before you even get to the kappa!
voodoobob: Oh man, I know what I'm doing next year.

I TOTALLY WANT TO DO IT NEXT YEAR. Set up a totally ghetto haunted "house" up the driveway, have it populated with a bunch of various ghosts and monsters that kids have to figure out (according to myth and folklore!) how to get past, to get their candy. 8D (It would probably have to be advertised ahead of time, so the trick-or-treaters know this house is going to be a challenge.) And they'll have to be given really awesome stuff in return, of course, for being such intrepid adventurers. <3

I may be too old to trick-or-treat any more, but BY GOD I CAN STILL ENJOY HALLOWEEN. *shakes fist*

this may possibly be my way of coping with the fact that I'm in class all Halloween night

... For the reward I'm thinking of little wooden boxes filled with chocolate coins, and possibly candy jewelry. Or cardboard, if wood is too prohibitively expensive.

I may have to win the lottery to do this, but it's going to happen some year, damn it. XD
