Such a dork
So I was watching A Beautiful Mind for class this morning, yay for not watching the movie your final paper needs to be written on until the day said paper has to be turned in, and it was beautiful and sad and I cried like a baby near the end, but none of that is the topic of this post.
The topic of this post is: early in the movie, when Martin made the winning move against Nash in Go, I got thoroughly distracted and rewound the movie to look at the board again at least three times, thinking "wait, is that a legal move? Could you actually play white there? It's surrounded by black pieces, there's no adjacent whites. Of course, I see the black territory is otherwise encircled, but can you capture territory by playing into a suicide spot like that with the only stones of your color on diagonals?"
None of you are surprised that I'm really this much of a geek, right?
