We have just gotten a really huge thunderstorm, with lots of rain. Yaaaay!

It knocked out our Internet. Noooo!

After some fiddling with the router, Internet works. Yaaaay!

... but only on my dad's computer. WTF?!

Yeah, for some reason Schala is not good enough to have Internet, or something. I have no idea what it is. It's got to be a local problem - I'm sure it's impossible that Cox would be providing service to only one computer on a LAN - which means I can't do jack, because I know nothing about the innards of computers.

... So, yeah. flidgetjerome, thebasi, cftf, sorry I fell off AIM. My computer is denied her interwebs. Hopefully I'll be back on tomorrow.

Edit: It was gremlins. Problem solved itself when no-one was looking. My computer has interwebs now. ♥

I heard something about a fiber optic cable being cut.... that might be the problem. :(

Mmm, I don't think that was it. I mean, Schala and my dad's computer are on a LAN, and they're literally a foot away from each other. If there's an issue with the actual cable, I'm pretty sure both computers are going to be affected.

It seems to have been gremlins - I'm responding from Schala now. The problem mysteriously cleared up when I wasn't looking.

Once, during a thunderstomrm, lightning struck and fried the modem in our old computer completely. Computer wouldn't start up until Dell sent a replacement.

Will Schala start?

Yeah, she was starting just fine, she just couldn't get ahold of the interweb. The whole thing apparently cleared up while I was playing Phoenix Wright, because when Dad got up and I told him about the problem, the problem had ceased to exist.
