Actually, I remember reading (I think it was wikipedia) that Pocahontas was supposed to be "officially" a Disney princess, and Mulan wasn't - but Mulan was a lot more popular (and deservedly so), so Pocahontas was kind of dropped while Mulan would be quietly put in her place...

Mulan makes a pretty kickass princess anyway.
