happiest place on earth my ass
So FINALLY I have Internet again. The past few days have been the shittiest of my life.
1/7/07
Actually did not have problems getting out of the airport. Managed the bags with a luggage cart, got a shuttle okay, all good. Trouble started at Disney.
See, I didn't want to put down my duffel bag (contained my ID) or my laptop case (I JUST got this laptop), so I carried them with me everywhere through the check-in process. Except, uh... they weigh about a ton each. Between that, and what I now know was a flu or something, that was the longest goddamn morning, and I hadn't really... slept. At all.
In the afternoon, I realized two things:
1. I had managed to lose my Disney ID. JUST ISSUED that day, and I lost it within hours.
2. Say, whatever happened to my, uh, luggage...?
So there was weeping and gnashing of teeth while I got a temporary pass and tracked down the luggage. It doesn't sound terrible when I say it, but from where I was standing it was a great looming shadow of horror, especially in the state of mind I was in. I had visions of being sent home in disgrace and without my luggage because I'd lost my ID, and was clearly unfit to work here.
Also, Chatham's showers suck and the beds are terrible. And the internet was borked.
1/8/08
This day was actually pretty good at first! Continued check-in went smoothly, welcoming pool party was a blast and I met Mickey and Donald, delicious pizza was had and pool football was played, I enjoyed myself thoroughly. After resting at home for a bit, I went out to Wal-Mart with the roommates to get job stuff and house necessities. Roommates had plans for the night and I didn't, so I opted to take the bus back to Chatham.
Then I threw up.
In public.
Twice.
I thought the first time (at the bus stop) would be the end of it, but no - I then threw up ON THE BUS. At the apartment complex before mine, no less, so I had to call the roommates to leave Downtown Disney and pick me up.
HATE.
(Roommates deserve fervent thanks and kudos for putting up with me and my scatterbrain and my needing rides and my BEING VIOLENTLY ILL.)
1/9/08
Actually, I can't really delineate the 8th and 9th, because I woke up twice during the night (and then threw up each time), then slept through most of the morning, so time-sense got kinda fucked. Was still sick and miserable in the morning, but this was when my Traditions was scheduled (the session I have to attend before I can train), and I really did not want to miss it, though I also didn't want to risk throwing up during Traditions. Roomies strongly encouraged me to stay home (I was about to chance it anyway), so I did.
Lesson learned: Disney is NOT as unforgiving with scheduling as I'd thought. Company got in contact with me, we scheduled me for a new Traditions session, I called my coordinator of training to let him know about the change, everything's squared away. I was also recommended a clinic in the area that offers transportation (<333) so I went and got myself some antibiotics and antinausea pills. It cost me a fair bit, but my father sent me emergency medical funds that more than covered it.
(Naturally, now that I've gone to the doctor, I think I'm on the mend.)
Since the clinic's van dropped me off right by the clubhouse and this was the last day my temporary permit was valid, I went ahead and replaced my ID too. And, as you may have surmised, our Internet is working now. (It still hates roomie's computer and router, though. Do not know why. I feel bad for mostly just being happy that mine works.)
FINAL REPORT: The past few days have been ass. I cannot wait to get better and for my time here to stop SUCKING. C'mon, Disney Magic, hook me up, huh?

Surely! At least, on the upside, I've learned that you're never as alone and lost as you think you are, so that will keep me well if it gets worse again.
(I still love that fucking icon XD)

DISNEY WILL TAKE CARE OF ITS OWN. ♥ And you know that your roommates are nice people, now!
(It loves you too. Yuugi loves EVERYBODY! Platonically!)

You had me a tad worried because when I caught you over IM I was under the impression your woe was caused by people being assholes and jerks, which would be a horrible, long-term problem of suck.
Vomiting sicknesses are horrible, I spent a couple of days after Christmas doing something similar, but at least once you get better it's over with. *Hug*

What IS Traditions?
Now isn't a time to bring up my trivia about Walt Disney being a vehement anti-Semite, is it? I bet if he saw his characters talking about love and peace in Kingdom Hearts, he'd barf up his spleen.
