I have discovered one of the Pit's rare goodfics.
Knight of Flowers, Goofy x Aerith.
... Yes, you read that right.
I fully admit, I had a little brainbreak at the pairing, but I was also curious, and oh, am I glad I was. The writing style is calm and clear, the pacing and buildup are slow and easy, and there's plenty of background detail without going into excess - just enough that you feel like you're ambling quietly along through the fic, watching what happens and taking in the scenery as you go.
The characterization, also, is wonderful. Everyone's delightfully IC, and there's little asides in the narrative that just fit and give you little windows into Goofy's mind, and the Goofy/Aerith element doesn't feel strange or out of place at all. You can completely understand it.
It's a gentle, pleasant read, with some notes of bittersweetness and it all just works. This is exactly the sort of thing there should be more of in the KH fandom. ♥
