RL Christmas prep, and stuff.

After being volunteered - twice - to help set up the tree, with neither of these attempts actually starting, I took matters into my own hands and cleared off the coffee table, put up and decorated the tree, and put the presents underneath it singlehandedly, while my parents slept. Win.

Unexpected adorable side benefit of having bought the niece and nephew an extra, small present each: I could hide them in the tree. Right in there with the scented origami irises, which I may also suggest they take home.

skinship, I got your package! The tea smells fantastic and the bag is so cute. :D Tried some of the candy, and it was kind of overwhelming. XD I'll have to definitely give the tea a try, though. :D

(no subject)

Seven minutes away from Christmas, as I begin typing.

My sleep schedule is way out of whack, my mom has caught the "sick-on-Christmas" misfortune I've seen going around and is miserable, I still feel guilty for not getting presents for everyone I wanted to, we ran out of tags, we can't find the scissors, and I still feel like Christmas kind of came up and blindsided me.

But.

The tree is decorated and proudly striving to contain a near-overflowing table of gifts, it's as cold a December as we've ever had, with frost forming outside, I don't know what all my presents are, the kids are going to light up when they see what I got them, and my dad's got Christmas Day off.

One minute to Christmas. I'm pretty happy.

Happy holidays, to everyone - whatever you celebrate, however you celebrate, I hope you have a good one. If you don't celebrate, I wish you happiness anyway, because it's the right time of year for collecting yourself and smiling and looking ahead.

It just turned Christmas.
