... what the. XD

Okay, so. My dad and I have our computers hooked together on a LAN. We're both running Windows XP, more or less the same settings as far as I know, it's pretty homogenized. There's some quirks, though. Schala's a real bitch about ripping music, I think she has a faulty CD drive - early songs on the CD are fine, but the farther along the rip gets, the worse each track sounds because somehow all these ugly pops and skips get inserted. This happens with any and all music CDs I try to rip from, and the same thing happens with any program, and even when I'm just playing a CD, so I know it's not just a ripping glitch.

So, yeah. If I want songs off a CD, I use my dad's computer and move the files over.

Normally there's no problem with this. However, I was ripping the FF7 OST just now, and Dad's copy of FreeRip kept choking on the last track of disc 3, "Who Am I?". Eventually, I had to - very reluctantly - come back to Schala to give it a try. Fortunately it seems Schala has no problem with ripping individual tracks, and "Who Am I" was obtained without further incident. I returned to Dad's computer for the bulk ripping and all was well.

Until partway through disc 1. (I was doing this backwards - I'd started with disc 4 and worked back to disc 1.) It hung up on a particular track in exactly the same way, and I made preparations to come back to Schala again...

The track it choked on was track 17, "Who Are You?".

I tried ripping the remainder of the disc starting from track 18, and, yes, it proceeded without incident.

Remember there's nothing that drastically different about these two computers. I was even using the same program on each one. Apparently, my dad's computer just can't stand Cloud's identity crisis songs. XD

This might be a pretty good argument for computers having personalities. XD

Your dad's computer says "CLOUD IS A PUSSY LIEK WHOA."

Seriously.
