My god, I've never heard of that. That's it, the fandom must be HIGH. That's the only explanation I can think of. I left the FMA fandom ages ago because it got too... hum, elitist, I guess. I mean, the anime's okay and all, but it really pisses me off when people go batshit whenever someone says it's not the greatest they've ever seen. Harry Potter will forever rule as the king of dysfunctional fandom, though I can't exactly say Rowling didn't deserve it. While many people are spazzing about book 6 (and for good reason- it certainly wasn't the best written one, though it's for understandable reasons), everyone else seems to be going bonkers over the interview (bolded 'cuz I can). Poor Ron gets no love.
As for My Little Pony... There are apparently these forums where rabid collectors go. Many of them completely spazz out when a new one's released because they feel as though their childhood's being raped or something. But the real kicker? Never, ever mention removing your pony from the box. I'm not kidding here. These guys are NRFB (never removed from box) fanatics! Apparently some people pay a lot of money for them. I can't see their worth for anything other than sentimental value, but who am I to judge? My sister and I were taking our youngest sis out to Toys R Us day before yesterday when we saw the My Little Pony section. We joked that we should remove them all from their boxes and post it online to see what would happen. But yeah, it's dysfunctional. Yikes. I'd post a link to some choice bits here, but I can't seem to find anything. It's only when you actually want it, isn't it? xD
