Take your half-finished work to your teacher and ask if it's going the way he wanted it to go? At least you won't have any surprises when you hand the finished one in.
I hate reproducing peoples work. I'm not sure I understand the value of teaching that, because it's not allowing you to learn how to proportion,etc on your own. Ah anywho, Good Luck on that!
