Impending legality alert
So, wow. In three days, I'm turning 21. I will at last be able to gamble and buy alcohol. Not that I will be much of a drinker or much of a gambler, but it'll be nice to know I can.

My thoughts exactly!
As far as the apparently very important children, the creators said in the (rather long-winded) special features disc that Cloud surrounded by children was a major thematic idea the whole time they were developing an FF7 movie. I dunno, probably some kind of innocence metaphor.
