KH2 fanwork pondering
You know what I really wanna see fic of?
Destiny Islands, both during and after KH2.
There's, what, at least half a year between Destiny Islands' restoration and Sora coming back, right? Allowing for the fact that it was apparently only a year between games, and Sora HAD to have been out adventuring for at least a month or two of that time, and who knows how long he spent running around in KH2... anyway, point is there was a long span of time where the Destiny Islands were restored but missing Riku and Sora.
Now, Sora was sort of blanked out from everyone's memories while he was getting his own back, so for a while he wouldn't be missed, but he still didn't come home for a while after he remembered. And as Selphie shows us, Riku was remembered and missed that whole time.
What did their parents think of this? What did they do about it? Did Kairi try to explain? What? I want to read these things!
And post-KH2, you could do fun things with Sora and Riku trying to settle back into a normal life after all the adventuring and defeating of evil. I touched on that in Naught's Requiem, but I would love to see a better author than me take that and really sink their teeth in, you know? :D
... Also, will somebody please tell my brain that doing any kind of Riku fic or art based on the song 'Night Vision' would be both pretentious and horribly melodramatic? No matter how much it fits?

I mean, I keep thinking well, Silent Hill is all about bringing the worst fears and darkness within your heart to hideous life and there's all this talk about the darkness of hearts within KHII, so ... I mean. Srsly.
Or maybe I just take the crossover thing too far, I'm willing to buy that.

I'm working on... something kinda like this. It's 3rd limited in Riku's POV, though, so it doesn't have much on Sora (yet).
Augh, I need to finish it. I'm about half done... X|
And Sora slept for a year between KHCoM and KH2, so I actually think (including KH and KH2 adventures) that it was almost 2 years between their diappearance and return. :o

Yeah, that would be more logical. His age is given as 15 in the KH2 manual, though, where he was 14 before, indicating that KH and CoM and the sleeping together only added up to a year... I don't know, the timeline's borked. XD

And I know how you feel. I beat the game April 6, and I'm STILL obssessed with it. I've made over 100 posts since I beat it, which is almost half of my journal. D:
