Flyby KH wondering

So. I'm listening to Destati (the version where you can actually hear that words are being sung), and I've found the lyrics, and now I'm curious.

The song is about/to Sora, right? A lot of it makes sense - you hear it when he's getting poked at in his dreams in apparent preparation to receive the Keyblade, and the stuff about awakening and extending your hand to receive fits with that. Even the stuff about doors opening is, yeah. Doors opening is a large motif in Kingdom Hearts, and Sora does some opening of doors along with the locking of them.

But what's with the lines about remembering? I mean, you don't just stick this kind of heavily mystical lyrical imagery into a significant part of the game and not have it mean something, especially when it touches on important themes from the series. What is it Sora needs to remember? What is it he has lost? It makes perfect sense when it plays later for Roxas, but not so much at the beginning when you've just got little Sora.

Is there some kind of... I don't know... essence of Keyblade wielder that gets passed on to kids with suitably strong hearts, as a sort of pseudo-reincarnation?

Actually, come to think of it, that might even make Sora's intro line from the beginning of KH1 make some sense at last. "I've been having these weird thoughts lately. Like, is any of this for real, or not?" If there was some kind of hand-me-down essence thing going on with the Keyblade, and it was just about to wake up in Sora, some feeling of subtle disorientation would make sense; suddenly his own reality has shifted slightly, and it's throwing him off.

... oh, dammit, I think I've bunnied myself again...

Sora's a Sorceress! ^___^ Wow, I'm sure that someone would love that for Bunnycrash or something.... :)

And Roxas? So a Sorceress, too, and Axel would BEAT anyone else who tried to be his Knight. ^_______________^

Oh man, the BunnyCrash bunny will not die....

And you know, there's been mention, somewhere in the World that Never Was, about "previous" Keyblade wielders, and the fact that everyone KNOWS ABOUT THE KEYBLADE which implies Sora can't have been the first one ... yeah.

It wouldn't surprise me if there'd been previous "heroes" with the Keyblade, it's just that Sora happened to come along at a very important time in the world's history, when the Heartless and the Nobodies were amassing.

(And hey, in the Chinese calender there's a belief that every sixty years or so, there's a really bad cycle of years, and this just continues on like clockwork; one could argue that's what happening with Kingdom Hearts and Sora -- maybe this has all happened before, with a different set of characters.)

Waha. XD

... suddenly I suspect I know what Nomura's thinking of for KH3. >_>

The question is, do you really think he'll get rid of Sora-Riku-Kairi in favor of reincarnations? Or past lives? Because I know when I think "Kingdom Hearts," I think "Sora" as a character, and I don't know if they can really pull off the whole Final Fantasy "new set of characters every time!" thing, unless it's like Roxas again. :O

I.e., when the Keyblade appears, disaster is sure to follow? Now how's THAT for blurring the line of good and bad? 8D

Bunnies of yours are ALWAYS good. >_>

Also... Could I get Destati off you? I have a sad lack of KH music.

Ooooh. Sankyouuu.

Omgawd. A friend is playing KHII, and she's been recording Sora singing and stuff over MSN. Christ, man... XDDDDDD It's so awesome. She sent me the Japanese version of Under The Sea, too, and... My throat hurts. We can't stop laughing... his dorky little gayboy laugh, and SUBARASHI UNDAH DAH SEAAA~. *cough* Felt like sharing.

I've never... heard the English Under The Sea before, save from the background music in CoM... XDDD *biggest losar on the planet*

You know, I've never actually listened to the song that is playing.

But you know, it makes sense. If you played the GBA game for KH (Chain of Memories), it would make a whole lot more sense. And it makes even more sense if you think of it as being DiZ who is singing.

Still, I really like the idea of the Keyblade passing on the thougths and memories of its previous wielders. I mean, they ARE supposed to be semi-cognizant, right? Otherwise, how would they be able to chose their masters?
