Something very strange happened today.

Since it's Wednesday, and my mom has some classes around the same time I do, she came to pick me up after class. Absolutely nothing was done differently about this routine today - same car, same time, I'm as healthy as I was on Monday, environmental factors were pretty much the same. Because I needed to pick up some costume stuff, we went to Michael's.

On the way to Michael's, I started feeling bad. By the time we were in the plaza, I was feeling awful. Mom wanted to eat, but I was nauseous enough that even thinking about food made me feel sick, and when we stopped the car I had to cover my face with my hands and just regain myself before we could go.

Once in the store, walking around and looking at stuff, I started to feel better, and mom and I brainstormed costume technicals with vim and vigor. I felt pretty much fine by the time we got back in the car.

Mom went into World Market in the same plaza to pick up some food while I waited in the parked car. During this time I still felt fine.

By the time we got home, the nausea was back, and I once again had to sit and recover myself before I could do anything. We came in, and the sickness sort of migrated into a headache which is now mostly gone.

I have felt fine all day. I don't remember feeling bad when mom dropped me off for my first class - it was only when we went to and came back from Michael's that I felt bad. However, I think the drive from home to college may be shorter from the drive from college to Michael's and the one from Michael's to home. It wasn't until the end of those drives that I started feeling off.

Mom doesn't report feeling any of these symptoms.

The only factors I can think of that MAY have affected this:

- Something is strange with my neck; I slept on it wrong or something, and haven't been able to look to my left. This could contribute to the headaches.
- I only got about six hours of sleep last night. This isn't unusual, though, I've gone to school on less sleep and the car didn't make me sick then.
- I had a large and junky lunch before my last class; possibly it disagreed with me later when we went to Michael's. But then why did I only feel bad in the car?

My suspicion/paranoia is that the car itself may have just started leaking carbon monoxide or something. I don't get carsick as a general rule, and I'm very used to that car so it would be even less likely to screw with me. This only just started today, though, and it's not apparently affecting mom, so I'm not sure. Nausea was the primary symptom - it felt like carsickness - but I did feel a little lightheaded too.

I don't know what it is. Anyone better educated care to take a guess?
